Robin is an extremely skilled basketball player with a high basketball IQ. Born to Dutch and Austrian parents but having been born in and having lived in Germany most of his life before going to college, he has a Dutch passport, an Austrian passport, as well as the possibility of picking up a German one. Robin made a name for himself first in the second team of Braunschweig that played D2 in Germany at the time. At age 19 he moved to the U.S. to attend the university of Portland where he enjoyed a fine college career playing 25+ mpg during his three years playing as a starter (he was suspended from play by the NCAA his freshman year due to some obscure rule), averaging 12.3 ppg and 6.3 rpg his senior year (2009/2010) resulting in a 1000 point - 500 rebound - 70 starts career. Academically he also shined being selected all WCC all academic and his senior year all academic first team by the athletic directors. Robin has also played for the Dutch national youth teams and is set to debut for either the Dutch national senior team or the German national senior team in the summer of 2010. The mixture of a European background and the tutalage of coach Reveno at Portland have made Robin a complete player. He has an array of moves from the block but can step out for the (3pt) shot as well. He is a also a very good defender and rebounder which makes him a great addition for any pro team for years to come.
